Several employment positions are available to theatre students. Those who qualify with the Financial Aid office may receive federal work-study funds. Those who do not qualify for financial aid may still work for state funds.

Usually the following positions are open:

• Backstage positions, 10-15 hours per week
• Costume shop positions, 10-15 hours per week
• Publicity Assistant, 15 hours per week
• House Manager/Box Office Assistant, 15 hours per week
• Office Assistant, 10-15 hours per week
• Appalachian Young People’s Theatre assistant, 10-15 hrs/wk.
• Dance Assistant, 10-15 hours per week

Students should apply to the faculty/staff supervisor of each area during the spring of the year preceding the school year for which employment is sought.
