Ken Kay

Kenneth Kay has been an adjunct professor with the Department of Theatre and Dance since fall 2001.

When not teaching at ASU, he serves as the Producing Artistic Director of the Blowing Rock Stage Company, a 21-year old Equity theatre. He has held this position for six years.

Prior to moving full-time to North Carolina, he was a Resident Director for the Caldwell Theatre Company, a LORT theatre in Boca Raton, Florida. While there, he also served as their Director of Outreach Programs.

Previously, he was the Associate Artistic Director and Director of Apprentices
with Flat Rock Playhouse, NC and from 1993-95 he was the Artistic Director of the
Burt Reynolds Institute of Theatre Training.

Mr. Kay has been an active member of Actors' Equity Association and the Screen Actors' Guild over twenty -five years. During that time he has directed and/or acted in nearly 200 professional stage productions throughout the southeast an on national tour. He has also appeared in numerous national commercials, television shows and feature films.

Mr. Kay is an honored recipient of four Carbonell Awards for Directing (South Florida's version if the Tony). He resides in Blowing Rock with his wife, the lovely and talented Kim Cozort.
