Martha A. Marking has been at Appalachian since 1987. She has designed costumes at the Utah Shakespearean Festival for seven years and was a cutter/draper at USF for three years. Other professional credits include the Wisconsin Shakespeare Festival, the Illinois Shakespeare Festival and the Blowing Rock Stage Company. She is currently on the Board of Directors of USITT (United States Institute for Theatre Technology) and is Chair of the Southeast Section. She recently co-authored an article entitled “Chain Mail Techniques from the Utah Shakespearean Festival”. She has served on several university committees including the Faculty Senate, the Faculty Grievance Hearing Committee and the Academic Policies and Procedures Committee.
